Objectives

The project "Youth Finance 101" aimed to address the pressing issue of declining financial literacy among young people in various EU countries, particularly in Southeast European nations, where the rates are significantly lower compared to central and northern European countries. The project recognized the importance of financial literacy in today's complex digital financial landscape, and it aimed to empower youth with the knowledge and skills necessary to make informed financial decisions and improve their overall well-being. Project Objectives: 1. Enhancing Financial Literacy: The primary objective of the project was to enhance the financial literacy and skills of 42 young individuals, including not only improving their knowledge but also shaping their attitudes and behaviors towards money. By doing so, the project intended to equip them with the tools to navigate the increasingly complex financial world effectively. 2. Digital Empowerment: Recognizing the significance of digital skills in today's society, the project aimed to explore practical and digital tools that can empower youth to enhance their financial and digital competencies, including diverse budgeting strategies and informed financial decision-making. Digital literacy is seen as a key component of financial empowerment. 3. Promoting Financial Education: The project sought to raise awareness about the importance of financial education and financial literacy, achieved through an online forum organized and conducted by the project participants. This forum served as a platform to disseminate knowledge and advocate for financial education. 4. Cultural Exchange and Collaboration: A crucial aspect of the project was to cultivate the participants' abilities to collaborate effectively with others from diverse cultural backgrounds. Overcoming language and cultural barriers to achieve common goals is seen as an essential skill for today's globalized world. 5. Advocating for Non-Formal Education: The project also aimed to advocate for non-formal education and enhance the accessibility of the Erasmus+ Program for young people, especially those facing fewer opportunities. It recognized the role of non-formal education in addressing gaps in traditional formal education.
