Our primary motivation for implementing this project stemmed from addressing the palpable divides we observed between different cultural, ethnic, and social groups across Europe, and the feelings of alienation these divides often create. Our aim was not just to bring together young people from diverse backgrounds, but also to provide an active solution to this fragmentation by creating an environment where mutual understanding, tolerance, and genuine inclusion could flourish. Our project was founded on the shared European values of unity, respect, and mutual growth. Within this framework, we aimed to establish a safe and open space where participants could share their personal stories, cultural experiences, and perspectives without fear of judgment. We believed that by learning directly from each other's lived experiences, they could effectively challenge the prevalent stereotypes and prejudices within society. One of our primary objectives was to replace prejudice with curiosity and empathy, encouraging our youth to truly appreciate the diverse tapestry of cultures, beliefs, and traditions the world offers. Another main goal of the project was the empowerment of all young participants, especially those with fewer opportunities. We aimed to equip them with valuable skills such as intercultural communication, teamwork, and critical thinking. By developing these competencies and ensuring active participation in project activities, we sought to enhance their self-confidence. Our ultimate purpose was to enable these young people to become more active, conscious, and engaged individuals within their own local communities, encouraging them to act as ambassadors of change, promoting the values of unity, understanding, and mutual respect in their own environments. Thus, we hoped they would contribute to building a more inclusive, understanding, and harmonious society.
