Objectives

The Oxford English defines a Digital Native as ‘a person born or brought up during the age of digital technology and so familiar with computers and the Internet from an early age’, statistics show that digital natives spend a lot of their time on mobile devices, with 90% of young adults (16-24 yrs old) having access to a smartphone and only 3% not using the internet. However, branding all young people as digital natives risks excluding vulnerable young adults from digital skills provision. Nominet Trust estimates that there are over 300,000 young people who do not have basic digital skills. The importance of learning about digital competence in non-formal and informal settings becomes a central aspect of education of the EU population with an employ-ability perspective. With this project activity we would like to enhance the youngsters knowledge on the use of digital technology in order to create their Digital Professional Profile for applying in job sector and to support them as well to build their own business with the use of technology in a professional way .As its already known and referred above all youngsters have the ability to use their smartphones but not ability to use in the same way desktops or laptops. The project will support youngsters to get to know and understand the meaning and domains of key competencies and ICT skills in job sector , to develop certain professional profile and be able to use it in different context; to develop a positive attitude towards ICTskills, their development and use; to increase the employ ability skills of youth workers through experiential methods; to Support proactive attitudes of participants on the issues of youth employment; to foster an entrepreneurial mindset attitudes and culture and of course to exchange experience. By implementing this activity we will train 36 youth workers on ICT skills in order to be able to create their own e-business and have an on- line portal to discuss , follow -up with start-upers as welll. This project will emnchance unemployed youth workers with new skills so they can be more copetitive in the market and have more alterlatives for their future. Also , this activity will respond to the needs, interests and experiences of young people as perceived by themselves . Of course this youth work practice will enhance young people’s rights, personal and social development and autonomy as it is designed, delivered and evaluated together with young people
