Objectives

With this project, Empowering Youth for Sustainable Futures: Building Community-Led Climate Action, we aimed to respond to the urgent need for youth workers to be better equipped in guiding young people to collectively address environmental challenges. Recognizing that climate change and environmental degradation disproportionately affect the most vulnerable communities, we sought to shift the focus from individual responsibility to collective, community-led action. Our core objective was to empower youth workers with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to: - engage and inspire young people in their communities, - promote collective action for climate justice, - apply participatory and inclusive methods in their work. We placed a strong emphasis on Social Solidarity Economy (SSE) and climate action as two intersecting areas where youth workers can spark sustainable change. The project also aimed to enhance digital competencies, foster community engagement, and build inclusive and democratic group dynamics rooted in cooperation, equality, and respect. By encouraging non-formal and experiential learning approaches, we aspired to support the creation of youth-led collectives that can become long-term drivers of positive transformation. Ultimately, our objective was to equip youth workers to act as catalysts who can help young people understand that while their actions matter, systemic change comes from collaboration and shared responsibility within their communities.
