Objectives

The pandemic situation that we had lived in for 2 years showed us again how important it is that people who work with people (trainers, youth workers, social workers etc.) can react to unexpected situations and support their target group. Our approach focuses a lot on flexibility and works with that can support unexpected events. The aim of the Design Your Context project is to strengthen the capacity of youth workers and their organizations in their support for young people by increasing the quality of training courses in the youth field and especially in the frame of Erasmus+. Objectives of the project: - to improve youth workers' (working with groups) and trainers' key competences, skills; - to foster improvements and innovation of non-formal education in youth work; - to support having a better understanding of interconnections between different elements of non-formal education; - to raise awareness of youth workers and trainers’ own styles with their strengths and weaknesses; - to develop skills and attitude towards flexibility towards the ability to react to unexpected situations especially, to handle ambiguity and crisis; - to support the embodiment of the gained knowledge; - to increase the motivation of trainers and youth workers; - to create mobilities of professionals in youth work and Erasmus+ cooperation; - to develop a toolset with min. 16 master workshops that will be disseminated. Design Your Context is a project with 2 connected parts with 2 training courses and an in-between period while participants carry out their own educational programs within their own context and getting mentored for it. The PDAs are set in a way that maximizes the impact of the project if involved participants attend both, however, the content can be useful separately, too. Design Your Trainership (Dasiko Chorio Paggiou, Greece, May 2024): The first training activity focuses on technicalities and practicalities, communication and coaching tools for trainers. A training course on key practicalities, including the specifics of Erasmus+ and training on the field of youth work with a focus on how to approach groups and the basics of trainership. Design Yourself (Dasiko Chorio Paggiou, Greece, September 2024): The advanced training for trainers program that focuses on tools, skills and competences that support the participants to find their own style in working with groups. This program focuses a lot on trainers' professional self-awareness and development. As a trainer, one works with people all the time. In order to be capable of active listening and realize the needs of individuals and groups, self-awareness is a key to success. In-between period: Those, who sign up for both training, receive support to plan and realize one of their own programs/workshop/session/training between the two training courses. They can bring this experience for the second training to work with. The support will come from the online community of the group that will be established throughout the first training. There will be space to create professional connections, so participants can realize programs together as well.
