"Reify: A Journey to Sustainable Design" is a transformative project that encompasses both the urgent need for sustainability in design and the overarching goals of youth work practice. In a world marked by environmental challenges, we recognize the critical role design plays in shaping a sustainable future. This project's primary objective is to empower young people and youth workers with the essential skills and perspectives needed to engage in sustainable design practices. We aim to equip 22 youth workers from Greece, Italy, Spain, France, and Lithuania with proficiency in 3D design, 3D printing, and precious plastics utilization. By doing so, we hope to foster a new generation of innovative creators and sustainability advocates. This project seamlessly aligns with European priorities, particularly the European Green Deal, as we actively contribute to Europe's journey towards becoming a climate-neutral continent by 2050. By empowering youth workers and young people with sustainable design principles, we aim to extend the impact of youth work practice beyond immediate participants and organizations. Through skill dissemination, innovative pedagogical approaches, and accessible resources, we aspire to inspire a broader shift towards sustainability in design, ultimately contributing to a more sustainable and harmonious world.
