Green is Easy aimed to transform the perception that environmental action, whether individual or within youth NGOs, is complex and costly. It aimed to harness the collective knowledge of youthworkers from the consortium and associated partners to create practical, applicable solutions for a green approach. By empowering small entities with ecopractices and digital tools, it promoted sustainability, fostered active citizenship and strengthened the capacity to drive positive environmental change.
We applied for Green is Easy in response to the urgent need for accessible, practical approaches to environmental sustainability within youth work. While many young people and youth workers repeatedly express interest in adopting green practices, they often lack the tools, guidance, and confidence to do so. The project aimed to address this gap by demystifying sustainability and showcasing that adopting eco-friendly behaviours can be simple, cost-effective, and impactful. The needs we identified through the partner’s research were: 1. increased quality in the daily practices, with a focus on the environmental footprint; 2. strengthening synergies between local, national and international entities; 3. the use of innovative tools to share practices and raise awareness. Through examining the needs of the target groups, we identified: 1. Gaining knowledge about green practices for everyday life. 2. Being aware that “green” solutions are not expensive and/or elitist, but easy to apply. 3. Gaining knowledge on innovative tools for reaching a wide audience.
