We proposed the development of a different youth exchange that "attacked" a big problem from the solutions of those who would have to "suffer" the most, the young people, who were facing many problems based on the lack of decent employment and guarantees, the lack of knowledge they had of the rural world and its incredible potential with policies that support it, as well as their desire to undertake or initiate their innovative ideas and drivers of change. The idea of this YE was based on the needs detected during its previous design, in which the entities of the consortium were consulted through their youth workers, volunteers, young partners and families, coming to express: - The need to raise awareness among the younger generations that this was not just a problem for older people and that the consequences would be terrible. - Need to understand how it affects rural communities and how their actions can influence the situation, as well as understand the importance of entrepreneurship in revitalising these areas. - Understand and be aware of what the rural world entails in terms of values, feelings, culture, education, sustainability and economics. - Decentralise the increasingly crowded cities thus reducing and balancing the pollution produced. - To occupy rural areas by increasing employment resources for young people, new attractive formulas and covering their needs in relation to environmental and economic sustainability. - The need to adapt to new repopulation formulas such as the so-called "intermittent population". - The need to strengthen and improve the material and economic resources that are directed to rural areas so that they can be of interest to young people. - Recovering lifelong trades but adapted to a constantly changing world. - To provide young people with personal development tools to help them overcome the emotional and mental challenges associated with entrepreneurship in rural areas. At the end of the YE the following general objectives were achieved: 1- To make visible in an active and committed way the phenomenon of depopulation among young people, as well as its characteristics and consequences. 2- To offer real alternatives to fight against depopulation. 3- To inform and train on new sources of employment in rural areas. 4- To promote Social Inclusion through Cultural Diversity. The following specific objectives were also achieved: - To promote Youth Awareness and Commitment. - To learn about alternatives such as the intermittent population. - To promote new sources of rural employment. - To inform and train on new emerging green jobs. - To support the rural population in serving as a diffusion antenna. - To give an alternative of change to our young participants. - To catalyse change and youth empowerment.
