Inclusion of marginalised young peoplePreventing racism and discriminationCreativity, arts and culture

Objectives

As youth workers, our central mission is the empowerment of youth. This project focuses on young people from conflict-ridden areas who, unfortunately, might not otherwise be able to participate in an international project like this. By encouraging them to share their daily lives and social reality, we will increase their intercultural and intersocial awareness and instill a sense of common experience and solidarity. Hip-hop is used as a way to address the frustration caused by issues of social exclusion, discrimination, racism, sexism, and poverty, while also promoting active participation of youth in society. We aim to restore the original power of hip-hop, which is to give a voice to the voiceless, using the arts as instruments of expression and self-affirmation. In particular, we focus on young people who have been left behind in the process of globalization and who have been pushed into the typical marginalization of urban and suburban areas in post-industrial cities. The problems and needs that this project addresses include: 1- The proliferation of gang culture among young people from marginal or semi-marginal socioeconomic backgrounds. 2- The spread of violence, hatred, and unsupportive and unhealthy messages in general. 3- The lack of tools to manage the emotions and frustrations of young people. Project objectives: 1- Empower young people by encouraging them to express themselves through art. 2- Raise awareness about the social power of artistic expression. 3- Connect young people who share the same passion through a common creative process. 4- Use hip-hop culture to raise awareness about issues such as social exclusion, discrimination, racism, sexism, poverty, frustration, etc. 5- Present different ways in which they can raise their voices and actively participate in society. 6- Prepare choreographies/songs/graffiti designs to perform at the final public event, serving as a showcase of the project's work and the Erasmus+ program. 7- Empower young people and improve their foreign language skills through intercultural learning experiences using non-formal education tools. 8- Raise awareness about European projects and the values of the European Union.
