Our “Voluntary Europe” project arises from the needs detected and expressed by the young people with whom we regularly collaborate (both from FFL-Madrid and in the rest of the organizations). After collecting these concerns and putting them in common, several points were identified that turned out to be the most in demand, these are: social entrepreneurship, introduction to the world of volunteering, care for the environment and ecology. Many of the young people with whom we constantly collaborate in our organizations are part of some volunteering project, either on a one-time or permanent basis. One of the main problems that they explain to us is that volunteering is a great unknown for the youth group, which is why they have proposed the idea that mobility is an opportunity to introduce this concept among said group. Our current society is experiencing a critical moment in relation to its social, economic, cultural contexts, etc. We are facing a moment where the climate of social tension is much higher than a few years ago, which is a perfect scenario for the development and rise of social and political radicalism. Young people have told us that although they are often aware of these problems, they do not know the tools to be able to work on them. Therefore, promoting social entrepreneurship and providing them with tools for this purpose will be one of our priorities. Through the development of various projects in our organizations we have been able to detect that many young people have an abstract and diffuse idea about what the E.U. is. Through this project we would like you to acquire more concise knowledge about what the European Union is and what its social and cultural principles are. Climate change and the fight against it is one of the great global challenges of our era. We hope that our project serves as a context to encourage reflection and the implementation of actions that serve to face this challenge. Our objectives are: -Encourage volunteering among youth. -Promote participation and social entrepreneurship among our participants, so that they become active and transformative agents at a social level. -To make the EU and the values it represents known to young people. -Promote practices and habits that help us in the fight against climate change.
