We aimed to encourage more sustainable choices by fostering new perspectives and promoting the development of environmentally responsible habits. To fully understand the concept conscious consumption, it was important to examine the factors influencing purchasing decisions and their broader impacts on the environment, the economy, and communities. The project sought to inspire young people to critically evaluate their consumption habits and create alternatives that encourage more sustainable behaviors. Participants were also encouraged to recognize how social media influences their purchases and how they can, in turn, influence others through their online presence. Despite growing evidence that consumers are increasingly inclined to make conscious choices, there remains a gap between intentions and actual behavior. Through this project, we intended to empower young people to lead a shift toward sustainable lifestyles, encouraging them to find satisfaction in non-material ways and adopt minimalist and frugal habits more frequently. The objectives were: 1. Provide basic knowledge on conscious consumption: Equiping young people with practical knowledge about conscious consumption that can be easily applied in daily life to foster better habits and attitudes. 2. Raise awareness of environmental and social impacts: Increase participants' awareness of how their consumption choices affect the environment, public health, and their communities. 3. Promote sustainable purchasing behaviors: Inspire young people to develop more sustainable purchasing habits by understanding the lifecycle of products and the hidden costs of overconsumption. 4. Empower young change agents: Encourage participants to become agents of change in their communities, influencing others and leading by example to promote environmental and sustainable development. 5. Address the influence of social media: Help young people critically evaluate the role of social media in shaping their consumption choices and empower them to use these platforms responsibly to influence others positively. 6. Disseminate project outcomes: Share the results and insights of the project through various channels to communicate best practices, experiences, and knowledge with other youth groups and institutions. By achieving these objectives, the project successfully demonstrated that even small, individual actions play a critical role in advancing global sustainability. Participants not only gained the tools and motivation to transform their own behaviors but also became leaders advocating for meaningful change within their communities.
