Objectives

The main goal of "Harmonizing Diversity" was to offer young people a safe, creative and intercultural space where they could explore questions of identity, inclusion and belonging through the arts. Rooted in non-formal education, the project aimed to support youth in expressing their lived experiences, particularly those shaped by migration, racism, exclusion, and cultural complexity, and to promote mutual understanding across national and social backgrounds. More specifically, the objectives were: - To promote social inclusion and active participation by engaging young people from diverse origins, including those with fewer opportunities, in a collective artistic process that values all voices equally. - To foster self-expression and intercultural dialogue through music, theatre, visual arts, and storytelling, enabling participants to explore and share their identities and personal narratives in a safe environment. - To reflect on memory, heritage, and the influence of history on current experiences of discrimination and privilege, by creating spaces for critical discussion and emotional exploration. - To empower youth as multipliers of change in their own communities, equipping them with tools for creativity, communication, and peer education that could be applied beyond the exchange. To strengthen European cooperation among youth organisations, developing a shared pedagogical approach to sensitive topics like diversity, exclusion, and cultural heritage. These goals were addressed not only through the design of the workshops and activities, but also through the structure of participation: co-creation, inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities, and connection with the local community of Ribes de Freser. By the end of the project, these objectives had not only been met but, in many aspects, exceeded, as demonstrated by the emotional depth reached, the quality of the final event, the strong bonds among participants, and the positive feedback received during the supervision visit conducted by the Spanish National Agency.
