Objectives

The project aims to strengthen an international network of youth workers based in ecovillages or other sustainable initiatives across Europe, supporting peer-to-peer learning around the creation of quality youth projects and other non-formal education opportunities for young people on the topic of sustainability. We also want to inspire other networks of youth workers by sharing the experience that led to the creation and development of the Yes to Sustainability network, generating a short documentary that explains how the network was generated, the driving force behind its creation, the challenges and the achievements that the pioneers achieved in the first years of the network's life. In addition, we want to improve the skills and abilities of participants to work with the inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities, both by eliminating obstacles to their access to activities and by promoting practices and methodologies that favor their active participation. The needs that we want to address with this project are: - Stronger and longer-lasting collaborations between youth workers from a wide range of countries and European organisations. - Higher quality of non-formal learning opportunities for young people. - More non-formal educational opportunities with sustainability topics, including more countries, organizations and young people. - The creation of a common base in terms of quality standards, skills and values of the youth worker network. - An active peer-to-peer support and learning network, where experienced youth workers and new generations can learn from each other and enrich their diversity. - Develop the inclusion skills of youth workers, in order to guarantee more equitable access to non-formal education opportunities and develop their skills to work with people with fewer opportunities. The main objectives of the project are: - Strengthen the structure of our network, deepening existing relationships and weaving new ones. - Improve the quality of organizations, partnerships and networking itself. - Increase the quality of youth projects related to sustainability in ecovillages. - Provide young people with the opportunity to learn how to become youth workers and learn from experienced partners by joining this project and other activities offered by our network. - Inspire the community of international youth workers by disseminating our experience and putting it at the service of the broader European Community of Practice. - Improve the skills of our youth workers on inclusion, extending and directing non-formal education to more and more young people with fewer opportunities.
