The main idea of the ¨Building the Purple Brick¨ project was to address critical thinking about sexist behavior through non-formal education activities. It also aimed to promote creating communities where everyone is equal, where people are valued for their abilities and curiosity, rather than for their gender. Through the project, we wanted to reduce the weight of gender roles on a cultural, economic, and social level. And to address those issues that are invisible to our eyes, but which affect the lives of the whole of society and, in this particular way, create discrimination against women. Furthermore, to learn together and to find a new way to build our communication and to improve the way we relate to each other, always with respect, tolerance, and acceptance. The general objective of the project was: Promote the creation of feminist societies by providing tools to question and awaken restless minds. And the specific objectives of the project were: Understand where we are coming from, where we are, and where we want to go. How certain aspects of feminism have changed and what changes we want to create for the future in our societies and cultures. Create a safe space where we can share, learn, and explore with freedom and respect. Provide tools to youth workers to understand feminism and challenge patriarchy. Discuss the types of feminism and why there is a range of movements. Name the sexist behaviors, we see in our societies, share stories, and together build the purple brick path. Rebuild our cultures so that the figure of women has the same rights in social, political, and economic aspects. Make visible glass ceilings, economic and home inequality, care burden for dependent people, mental burden, etc. Promote a society free of stereotypes with aware minds and bodies conscious of individual differences. Empower women to be themselves, fight for their ideals, and defend their thoughts. Be aware of healthy relationships and detect the signs when there are toxic behaviors. Discuss gender roles in our current societies and break stereotypes to increase the opportunities in our future.
