Objectives

One of the main objectives of Associació Alba is the community inclusion of young individuals with disabilities, working to eliminate the barriers that often arise. Within our organisation, we have a communication team that has been deploying a set of digital tools and technologies for some time now to address issues related to digital accessibility for young people with disabilities. A new horizon emerged when we saw the need to facilitate the use of fully equipped spaces within our organization for conducting workshops and activities with schools in our region and converting them into space makers. By opening up our spaces to the community and preparing young members with disability of our organisation to become activity facilitators, we were creating a pathway to meaningful includion. What we wanted to achieve by implementing "Inclusive Space Makers. Empowering All Abilities" is to have the opportunity to carry out a job shadowing with an expermiented organization that could allow us to share the knowledge needed in order to create this space. By collaborating with Digijeunes, a leading organization in maker education and youth work, the project aspired to integrate best practices and innovative methodologies into our work. Through this partnership, we intended to create a pathway for inclusion that goes beyond traditional approaches, making the integration of technology and accessibility a cornerstone of our efforts. The main objectives of our project were: 1. Provide youth workers from both organizations and youth facilitators with disabilities with job shadowing opportunities. 2. Allow the participants to apply their knowledge in real world scenarios, to nourish from other experiences and learnings and to share knowledge and ideas to overcome barriers and challenges. 3. Develop sustainable and innovative practices and resources that can be shared with other youth workers and organizations, ensuring the project's ongoing impact beyond its initial phase.
