Objectives

By implementing the "Beyond the Spectrum" project, we aimed to create a significant shift in how individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are perceived and included in the workforce. Our primary goal was to challenge existing stereotypes about autism in the workplace and highlight the unique strengths and talents that individuals with ASD bring to various professional environments. The objectives of our project were clear and focused: Change Perceptions About Autism in the Workplace: We wanted to raise awareness among employers, youth workers, and the public about the capabilities of individuals with ASD. By showcasing success stories and real-life examples, we aimed to break down misconceptions and encourage a more inclusive mindset. Accurately Map Employment Opportunities for Individuals with ASD: Our goal was to understand the current employment landscape and identify gaps and opportunities for people with ASD. We aimed to create a more realistic and positive picture of the job market for this community. Provide Practical Tools and Strategies for Employers and Youth Workers: We developed training materials, workshops, and guidelines to help employers and youth workers better understand autism and adapt their recruitment processes, workplaces, and communication styles to be more inclusive. Facilitate Job Searches for Individuals with ASD: By building networks with supportive companies and organizations, we aimed to simplify the job search process for individuals with ASD. This included creating resources to help them identify suitable job roles and navigate recruitment processes. Promote Empowerment Through the Erasmus+ Program: We wanted to use the opportunities provided by the Erasmus+ Program to promote mobility, learning, and collaboration among young people with ASD and those supporting them. This helped empower individuals with ASD, giving them a platform to gain skills, confidence, and real-world experience.
