Objectives

With the implementation of our project, we aimed to proactively prepare young individuals for the future by equipping them with the essential tools to make a significant impact in society. We recognized that the youth hold the key to transmitting revolutionary ideas, and our project seeked to harness this potential by providing a nurturing environment that could allow them to articulate their voices, access genuine information, and equip them for the professional realm by fostering digital competencies that are paramount in today's landscape. Here's a detailed breakdown of our objectives: Promotion of Personal and Creative Expression: Grounded on the assertion by the World Health Organization (WHO) that creative and personal expression aids young individuals in managing stress and enhancing mental health, our project offered youths an avenue to articulate their thoughts and ideas. Digital Literacy and Avoidance of Misinformation: Given the findings of the Eurobarometer, which highlighted that a significant proportion of Europeans, especially the younger demographic, find it challenging to discern reliable information online, our project emphasized educating them about the pitfalls of fake news and promoting discernment in the digital age. Preparation for the Professional World: Based on data from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) that underlines the growing demand for digital skills in the job market, our project focused on providing young individuals with these indispensable digital competencies. We introduced them to the world of copywriting, not only with the aim to sharpen their digital skills, but also to mold them into competitive candidates in the professional realm. Civic Engagement and Active Participation: Drawing from studies conducted by UNICEF and the World Economic Forum, our project recognized the importance of involving youths in social participation activities, emphasizing the enhancement of self-esteem, trust, communication skills, and active community participation. Moreover, we understood the value of digital citizenship, pushing for their responsible and active role in digital society. Tangible Outcomes through Copywriting: The project aimed to transform young participants into actual content creators, equipped with skills both conceptual (communication strategies, choosing reliable sources) and technical (introducing them to platforms and techniques to create SEO-rich content). Facilitation of Peer-to-Peer Knowledge Exchange: After attending the masterclasses, the participants present were the protagonists of a peer-to-peer programme. In this phase, they shared the knowledge acquired during the masterclasses with a group of peers, amplifying the impact of the project and giving them an opportunity to train and improve their leadership skills. In this way, they went from being mere participants to becoming agents of change. Establishment of a Digital Platform: As a culmination, our goal was to produce a vibrant digital platform , a hub of information, sharing, and online activism, enriched by young copywriters. Through this platform, we're not only democratizing knowledge but also demystifying the digital realm. The objectives of our project were manifold: from fostering digital literacy and resilience against misinformation, nurturing soft skills like critical thinking and leadership, to the creation of an active digital platform, we were determined to ensure our young participants received well-equipped, both professionally and personally, to face the challenges of tomorrow. To summarise, our specific and concrete objectives were: to create a survey that we distributed among our target group to find out what they would have liked to find on a website; to conduct 4 masterclasses and a final event per country; to create a peer-to-peer programme: to create a MOOC in which participants could find support and guide in the writing of articles, and in general during their training process.
