Objectives

The purpose of JPD is to create a network of young migrants in three territories (Melilla, Jerez, Zaragoza) in the Spanish state to lead a project of social and democratic participation for young migrants under guardianship or formerly under guardianship aged 16 to 25. On one hand, the network is built as a space for mentoring and as a positive role model for peers. It is also seen as a place of trust where the collective learning and resilience developed by the group can be appreciated. On the other hand, the aim is to establish networks for learning, social participation, and political activism. One of the priorities is to generate meetings that address the main issues and needs of the group. Through project participants, who are intended to act as intermediaries with institutions, conclusions and agreements will be communicated to these institutions. As a result, the general objective is as follows: - To forge a laboratory of social participation and political activism, led by young migrants without family references aged 16 to 25, which creates a youth association structure recognized as a valid agent for dialogue with institutions or administrations that affect the lives of those under guardianship or formerly under guardianship. In the same line, the specific objectives are as follows: - To provide information, tools, and pathways for young migrants without family references to face the coming-of-age process with more chances of success. - To promote a network created by formerly under guardianship young people who act as positive role models in the socio-educational, mental health and well-being, legal, and juridical fields for their peers. - To gather young migrants and decision-makers of public policies aimed at the group at a local, regional, and national level. - To raise visibility for the group through narratives and actions that combat stereotypes and discrimination against them. - To facilitate spaces of trust and learning for young people that promote social inclusion and enhance their level of key personal and digital competencies.
