Objectives

The "EU-VOTE" project aims to increase awareness and active civic participation of young people in the Autonomous Community of Galicia, Spain, with a particular focus on the 2024 European Parliament elections. Through a series of innovative and educational activities, we seek to achieve the following objectives: Education about the European Union: Provide young people with a solid understanding of the European Union, its policies, and its impact on everyday life, fostering EU knowledge among young Galicians. Skill Development: Empower young people with essential cross-cutting skills such as communication, decision-making, problem-solving, and teamwork, which are valuable in both their personal and professional lives. Promotion of Civic Participation: Inspire young people to actively engage in society through the simulation of managing a small municipality and encouraging them to propose solutions to local and European challenges. Environmental Awareness: Promote awareness of sustainability and climate change action, integrating sustainable practices throughout all phases of the project. Inclusion and Diversity: Ensure that young people from different backgrounds and circumstances have equal access and participation in all activities. Dissemination and Awareness: Share experiences and knowledge gained through online dissemination activities and collaborations with local political representatives, entrepreneurs, journalists, and other stakeholders. Long-Term Impact: Foster increased voter participation in the 2024 European Parliament elections and promote active and engaged citizenship in Galicia. The "EU-VOTE" project is based on the belief that empowering young people with knowledge and skills about the European Union and civic participation will strengthen democracy and contribute to the future of a more cohesive and engaged Europe.
