Objectives

During the year 2023 we were developing a Participation project: Rural Participation. Within this project, one of the objectives we wanted to work on was the technological issue, but for various reasons we were not able to go deeper and work as we wanted, being a point to improve the issue of podcasts as a way to transmit information and generate a different way of participation. This point, added to the synergies created as a result of a Training Course held in Jaca with French entities and associations in the area such as Valentia Martillue, have given rise to this project, whose main objective is to create an ONLINE tool, accessible (for all young people) with the central focus on the importance of diversity from a summative vision and not one of exclusion. To this end, the RU RADIO project aims to: - To make visible the different realities of the young people who participate in the project, with different environments and realities. Adapting, as far as possible, the podcasts so that everyone can have access to them (by means of a web page where the podcasts can be accompanied by videos of interpretation, for example). - Empowering young people to be able to participate through the podcasts in the realities that concern them in their environment. - Promote digital development from a vision of integration among young people in rural areas. - To have a space of opinion, listening and understanding for young people (with emphasis on the rural environment). In this way we can complement the work that we are already developing, so that all the actions that are developed will serve to improve and expand everything that is being done now. This point ensures continuity, as we do not intend this to be a one-off action. The acquisition of material and the creation of such a dynamic tool can be a very long-term project. Likewise, as it is a project with a large digital component, it means that continuity can be easier, given that it does not require, financially speaking, a large contribution. Moreover, the synergies created can last, and so can the work at local level and in each entity. We are aware that it is a very ambitious project in terms of coordination and work between all the organisations, but equally, if we are able to record everything we do, we believe that we can create a quality project that can serve as an example for other organisations, and even join this project over time. We want RU-RADIO to be an open tool and to gradually include all the people who want to participate, but in a slow way in order to do things well. Using podcasts from an inclusive perspective and adapting them is another way of making visible a sector of the population that is often not very present, especially among young people. Finally, we consider that the creation of a digital platform, adapting the podcasts to, for example, sign language, etc. is in itself a contribution to the inclusion and diversity of young people. Likewise, and as we have already mentioned: - This project supports the work we do on a daily basis and is a way of implementing this work, creating synergies between the young people themselves from all the localities and with very different realities. - The project provides an opportunity to work in a coordinated way with more young people and to create networks that can continue to exist beyond the end of the project. - Being able to prepare, elaborate and share a joint space with young people from different backgrounds, social, cultural and/or personal realities, implies the development of very broad competences, as well as a feeling of belonging to a joint project, regardless of the diversity of each person, which can empower both individually and collectively. - On the other hand, we believe that it is a way of making visible and normalising young people who, as a general rule, do not have much prominence in society due to their cultural background, geography or functional diversity. - Finally, being able to adapt the podcasts to any language not only means giving visibility and a voice to young people with functional diversity, but also mutual learning among all the participants. Therefore, we can conclude that this "Ru-Radio" meets the objectives of Erasmus+ and is a good contribution to the Inclusion and Diversity strategy of the Programme.
