The YEPIC project will bring a group of young people from Benaguasil to actively participate in the implementation of a learning and experience project on EU and citizen participation in relation to the SDGs and European environmental action lines. There is a need to integrate young people far from urban areas into political participation in their localities, give them a voice and empower them to implement European environmental action lines. Benaguacil Town Council is leading this project in response to the demand from young people to participate and develop initiatives such as BRIDGE 2030, which seeks to bring the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs closer to local youth. Skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, communication, networking, leadership, empathy, among other hard and soft skills will be developed through formal and non-formal learning. The distance between young people and decision-makers at local, regional and international levels will be bridged through debates and discussions. Ultimately, young people will be able to develop sustainable policy proposals and initiatives for the development of their municipality.
