The International Tasting Project was initiated by youth workers from small municipalities in South Savo to respond to the question often asked by youth workers who are interested in international youth work but have not yet engaged in it: What is international youth work? At the same time, the project challenged even experienced youth workers to reflect on the foundations of international youth work, the needs of young people, and their participation in youth exchanges. The aim of the project, as its name suggests, was to offer a small "taste" of international youth work, shared through the experiences of fellow youth workers. Mainly through peer learning, participants explored experiences of internationalization from the perspective of a youth worker. The project also included planning aspects of international youth work and youth mobility projects, as well as learning how to use digital tools together with young people throughout different phases of the project. During the project, there were also opportunities for networking and finding partners, making it easier to start international youth work with young people in one's own municipality.
