Objectives

The REV association organizes a youth exchange to raise awareness of biodiversity issues. The Réseau d'Entraide Volontaire association, which raises awareness of sustainable development and climate change through its various projects, is organizing the "Le Vivant" project. This youth exchange invites participants to reflect on the central role of biodiversity in our societies, and more specifically on the issue of its preservation. The project will be an opportunity for participants to explore and discover themes such as biodiversity, nature and the environment. It will also be a great opportunity for young people to create and broaden their ecological awareness by participating in and creating animations on the subject. The main aim of the project is to raise awareness and empower participants to observe and preserve biodiversity. At the end of the project, participants will be able to pass on what they have learned at a "Biodiversity Day". This specific day will be organized by the young people, who will create and run workshops dedicated to the local population. All the workshops will have one thing in common: they will have to answer the following question: how can we welcome biodiversity into our homes, gardens and lives? Our aim is for project participants to explore the Lozère region through its various environments. In particular, the project will take place in the rural south of Lozère. Shaped by erosion, this territory is criss-crossed by several rivers, geological formations such as the causses and numerous forests of many species. A wide variety of flora and fauna have been preserved here thanks to the low human density of recent centuries. The department has no metropolitan area, and its largest town has a year-round population of 13,000. Thanks to its specific characteristics, the area in which this project will be carried out makes it easy to implement the objectives of "The living" project, which are : - Reconnect with the living world through different approaches - Reconnect with our emotions/senses - Become familiar with tools for identifying living things (keys, books, drawings) - Become familiar with the global issue of biodiversity loss and its causes - Develop a critical mind - Develop the ability to express themselves on social issues - Develop technical skills - Use basic tools for various constructions - Discover participatory science Finally, this project will demonstrate the relevance of European projects by disseminating project results to our partners, networks and local young people. This will encourage them to participate in future projects.
