Objectives

The Rencontre de la Jeunesse Engagée pour une Société Inclusive aimed to structure and intensify the voluntary commitment of young people to an inclusive society. The initiative also aimed to promote the discovery of handisport and facilitate the hosting of young people with international disabilities. The main aim was to strengthen the dynamics of mutual emulation and empowerment between young people with disabilities, while extending these synergies to a diverse public. The event encompassed a number of key support schemes for young people with disabilities, combining adapted sports activities, awareness-raising and training workshops, as well as opportunities for intercultural encounters. By bringing together, over the course of a weekend, young people from a variety of backgrounds such as students, young professionals, people with disabilities and those involved in associations, this project contributed to the creation of a more inclusive society. The implementation of this project was intrinsically inclusive, with a particular focus on accessibility and initiation to disabled sports activities. What's more, it offered a prefiguration of what an inclusive and indispensable society should be. These powerful moments of socialization and openness aimed to reinforce the feeling of belonging to an inclusive community, and to make participants aware of the diversity of experiences and talents, whatever the barriers encountered.
