The aim of Diversi'Slam was to empower a group of young people (17 in total) by introducing them to slam poetry as a powerful tool for self-expression and freedom of expression. Through this creative medium, we raised awareness and stimulated reflection on key societal themes: diversity, equality and inclusion. The main aim of the project was to provide a space where young people's voices could be heard, valued and shared publicly. To achieve this, three days of themed activities were organised, each dedicated to one of the project's core values. Each day included participatory games, a shared meal to encourage bonding, and a slam poetry workshop where participants created and performed their own texts. The days were designed and run jointly by the “core” group of young participants, fostering ownership, responsibility and leadership skills. The initiative culminated in a public event at which the texts produced were shared in the presence of community players, youth workers and elected representatives, strengthening the link between young people and local decision-makers while promoting active citizenship.
