The JEDI-TRACK project aimed to encourage young people to design, develop, and promote citizen science actions, focused on initiative and resourcefulness, related to the quality of life in their neighborhoods, particularly in underprivileged areas. Through implementing these initiatives, they were to be encouraged to actively engage in their community, thereby strengthening the social fabric and developing their key competencies, including digital skills.
The Jedi-Track project was created to address the needs of young people from disadvantaged neighborhoods in France and Belgium by providing them with a space to reveal their talents and develop their potential outside the traditional school framework. These adolescents needed opportunities for validation, discovery, and exposure to the wider world. The project offered to support them in this civic and scientific journey, in a climate of trust and using adapted tools that were relevant to their everyday concerns.
