Objectives

The "Game Changers: Empowering Youth through Sports and Citizenship" project aimed to address the declining rates of youth civic engagement by leveraging sports as a powerful tool for fostering active citizenship. The primary objectives of the project were: - Enhance Youth Workers' Capacity: Equip youth workers with the skills and knowledge to use sports as a medium for promoting civic engagement and active citizenship. - Design Sports-Based Civic Engagement Activities: Develop innovative sports-based activities that reflect the cultural contexts of partner countries and effectively engage youth in civic activities. - Engage with Local Communities: Foster connections between youth workers, participants, and local communities to create a lasting impact on civic engagement at the grassroots level. - Promote Inclusion and Diversity: Ensure participation from diverse backgrounds, promoting equal representation and providing opportunities for participants with fewer opportunities. - Build a Network of Like-Minded Youth Workers: Establish a robust network of youth workers committed to using sports for civic engagement, facilitating ongoing collaboration and knowledge exchange. - Influence Local Communities: Implement the developed sports-based activities in local schools and communities to encourage youth participation and promote active citizenship. By achieving these objectives, the project sought to transform young people's perceptions and actions, encouraging them to contribute positively to their societies and fostering a more engaged and active youth population across Europe.
