EU Commissioner for Equality, Helena Dalli, highlighted that "diversity is our strength & one of the greatest assets in building a sustainable future". "In diversity there is beauty and there is strength" Maya Angelou. For our young people, this is 100% true as our Diversity is our strength Part 1 was our most successful & most viewed video uploaded on our YouTube Channel with 3302 views in 4 years (www.youtube.com/watch?v=w18olPG454A), and until today participants who attended it in 2019 still talk about the great memories & intercultural experiences learned & shared Diversity is our strength part 2 is an idea for young people including those of fewer opportunities (FO) who want to have another youth Exchange in Cork, Ireland to celebrate this EU Year of the Skills and to expose them to opportunities to learn skills & to teach it. We got many emails & requests from the youths from all 4 countries (Romania, Spain, Georgia,& Ireland). Then all youth organizations decided to just write this application with their input and to involve them in writing, generating ideas for activities, etc According to Geneva Business School, 2023, Diversity provokes innovation and creativity, It is because it creates an ecosystem that fosters creativity and helps bring people together with different perspectives, ideas, and voices that can produce unique ideas and outputs. A Romanian youth said, "What makes diversity our strength is the skills/knowledge we share & learn from each other as young people". This project will explore various forms of art skills chosen by the youth themselves using non-formal youth-led teaching and learning methodology. They want to learn from each other creative useful skills that they do not learn from schools but can use when learned & in adulthood. A Spanish youth said, " Let this youth exchange give us lifelong skills... because not us all like formal education maybe this Erasmus+ can boost some of us entrepreneurial spirit". Irish youth said, "All skills we chose are considered arts, art is an expression not just painting and it is broad & diverse, one can earn a living". Georgian girl said "Learning from a friend is for me nonformal at its best" The European Youth Strategy 2019-2027 can be summarised into 3 important words: "Engage, Connect & Empower" EU youths. That is the intention of this project. To engage young people including those with FO (financial obstacles, Asylum seekers, refugees, etc.) in activities that promote their participation and engagement in society. To ‘Connect’ EU youths by providing them with an intercultural learning experience through this Erasmus+ youth exchange, and ‘Empower’ them through real-life artistic skills using non-formal learning activities that encourage young people to take charge of their own lives by equipping them with YouthPass competencies. With this in mind, this youth Exchange will add a dimension of using real-life arts (they choose art because it's diverse). Youths decided that they would like to learn non-formally: Hairdressing creative style, makeup skills, eco-sustainable fashion styles made from recycled materials, arts & crafts using environmental-friendly practices, baking and decoration, Music and Dance, Creative short films, and editing videos. They said these skills they do not learn in schools and feel that can foster their YouthPass entrepreneurial competencies to expose them to many skills that they can use now & in adulthood Based on a Zoom meeting they did on 13/03/2023, out of 38 youths there were 33 voted by clicking thumbs up on their screens & most said that adding these useful arts is important. This is in line with Erasmus+ 2021-2027 Youth Quality Standards and Youth Goals (1 Connecting EU with Youth,10 Sustainable Green Europe, and 3 Inclusive Societies). The project's objectives are: 1. To design youth-led creative arts activities that can be used in everyday life & be certified with Youthpass 2. To increase young people's ‘knowledge about different cultures & diverse art forms 3. To promote good neighborly relations between the EU members and non-EU States through non-formal skills sharing. 4. To unite young people from different backgrounds, nations, and cultures; 5. To expose young people to various creative artistic professions to boost entrepreneurial spirit 6. To create an inclusive non-judgemental community where participants can share their art interests and learn from each other This project supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal number 4: Quality Education, our YouthsRule Strategic Plan 2022-2025 attached in the annex section, EU Youth Strategy 2019-2027, Irish Roadmap for Social Inclusion 2020-2025 as well as Erasmus+2021-2027 priority: Diversity and Inclusion. This project believes that it can help more young people including those with FO get the opportunities they need to succeed in life (especially those at risk of early school living) and reach out to a wider range of youth.
