The "Ignition" project aimed to address the pressing issue of the climate crisis by empowering young people to express their concerns and propose actionable solutions. By utilising theatre and film-making as creative tools, the project provided a platform for participants to share their perspectives on climate justice and inspire environmental awareness. The primary objective was to raise awareness about the urgency of the climate crisis within the partner communities while equipping young people with the skills and confidence to express their concerns effectively. It focused particularly on empowering those with fewer opportunities, enabling them to share their ideas through impactful performances and short films. The project also brought together 48 young people and 15 youth workers from diverse regions, fostering collaboration and promoting intercultural learning through the exchange of practices and experiences. This initiative demonstrated how youth work can amplify young voices and provide public platforms for engagement, advocacy, and creative expression. Through its activities, participants created short films, public performances, and a project documentary to highlight their learning and raise awareness. Beyond these creative outputs, the project emphasized personal growth, enhancing participants’ confidence, intercultural competencies, and advocacy skills. Ultimately, it sought to inspire meaningful change by empowering young people to take active roles in promoting climate action within their communities and beyond.
