Objectives

At the outset of this project we set the following objectives to achieve as a result of the implementation of the project; Increase organizational capacity for Digital Youth Work: We aimed to enhance our capacity for Digital Youth Work (DYW) at scale, specifically targeting isolated and marginalised young people. Build towards a strategic cooperation: We sought to lay the groundwork for a larger-scale Strategic Cooperation project to expand the reach and impact of the initiative. This included identifying and engaging partners from at least one additional country.

Background

Digital Transformation: Recent years highlighted disparities in youth work’s engagement of young people. Young people whom we never engaged before were now engaging with us online. This showed us that there was a need to reimagine digital youth work for isolated and marginalised young people. Best Practice Development: Humak University's experience in digital youth work in hospitals is leading the way in engaging young people in health care settings while Foróige's pioneering digital youth work, including Foróige GoDigital Programmes, provide a strong foundation for the organisation of digital youth work. Capacity Building: We enhanced Foróige and Humak University's capacity in Digital Youth Work (DYW) for isolated and marginalised young people through our practice exchanges and learning activities. Sharing Knowledge and Best Practices: Facilitating the practice exchanges to share best practices and knowledge among youth organisations in Ireland and Finland therefore expanding youth work's ability to engage with isolated and marginalised young people. Developing Future Collaboration: Created a strong commitment for strategic cooperation between Foróige, Humak, and a German organisation to prepare for application in 25/26
