The youth exchange "Sport for Inclusion and Health" was designed to enable 28 young people to develop healthier lifestyles, increase awareness of inclusion and sustainability, and strengthen their skills as active European citizens through sport, mindfulness, and non-formal education in a safe and intercultural environment. We recognized that many young people face social isolation, lack of physical activity, stress, and disconnection from nature and community. With this project, we aimed to create a supportive space where they could gain practical tools to improve their well-being while building connections with peers from different cultures. Our main objectives were: To promote physical, emotional, and mental well-being through sports and mindfulness sessions, encouraging participants to discover the benefits of an active and balanced lifestyle. To foster intercultural dialogue and inclusion, helping participants develop respect for diversity, work collaboratively, and overcome cultural barriers during activities and intercultural evenings. To strengthen active citizenship and social responsibility, equipping participants with teamwork, leadership, and communication skills to be applied in their local communities. To raise awareness about environmental sustainability, encouraging participants to reflect on their role in protecting the environment and to adopt eco-friendly practices. To support reflection and personal growth through Youthpass, the ASK model (Attitudes, Skills, Knowledge), and daily reflection sessions, enabling participants to track their learning outcomes and personal development. To inspire participants to become multipliers, sharing what they have learned with their peers in their local contexts and encouraging others to adopt healthy, inclusive, and sustainable lifestyles. Throughout the youth exchange, we implemented inclusive sports, mindfulness exercises, nature walks, non-violent communication workshops, and intercultural activities that allowed participants to learn through action. These activities were designed to stimulate, strengthen resilience, and create meaningful connections with themselves, with others, and with the environment. In essence, we wanted the participants to leave the youth exchange feeling more self-confident, motivated, and equipped with the knowledge and tools to contribute positively to society as active and responsible European citizens who value inclusion and sustainability in their daily lives.
