The project "Challenge gender roles" is a response to the deeply rooted dynamics in society, where women continue to face harassment, abuse, and violence, gender pay equality is still a distant goal, and women’s political and economic representation remains insufficient. We often conform to predefined gender roles and expectations without questioning them, limiting our lives as a result. Gender-based violence manifests itself daily, often within the walls of the home, a place that should be safe but unfortunately becomes a prison for many women. In these situations, physical, psychological, and economic violence is inflicted by those who should be a source of affection and support. This project was our commitment to addressing this issue through an intercultural youth exchange focused on gender. We aimed to promote equality, freedom, and the acceptance of diversity, enriching one another through artistic activities such as dance, music, and other forms of creative expression proposed by the participants. The main objectives of the project were: - To develop participants' knowledge and understanding of key gender-related concepts and emphasize the importance of gender equality. - To raise awareness and promote understanding of gender-based violence and discrimination. - To engage actively in local communities in their own countries to spread a message of non-violence. - To use dance as a tool to raise awareness about gender violence and discrimination. - To improve communication and cooperation skills in gender-diverse contexts. - To develop the ability to build family and social relationships free from gender stereotypes. - To enhance the ability to live together and cooperate through dialogue.
