The project brought together young people from various European regions to offer them a personal growth experience through artistic expression. Hip-Hop culture and Street Art disciplines were used as an educational method to engage young people and help them connect with their own creativity. The activities during the youth exchange were designed to allow participants to experience a healthy and safe educational environment that provided them with a high-quality experience. In addition to practical activities focused on Hip-Hop culture, the youth exchange also served as a platform to discuss and address the topic of social regeneration through Street Art. Participants explored how the artistic languages of these disciplines can engage young people in improving – or even creating – spaces for community gathering, thereby contributing to the well-being of their communities. This was achieved through various Street Art disciplines (Hip-Hop elements such as DJing, MCing/rapping, graffiti art, and breakdancing), promoting greater youth participation and fostering the value of social inclusion. The diversity of the activities helped create a healthy educational environment and engaged a socially and culturally heterogeneous audience. This exchange demonstrated that these types of art forms serve as a valuable vehicle for young people to express themselves and discuss current issues. As such, the project also aimed to be a space for reflection and discussion, stimulating critical awareness and encouraging dialogue around the differences and similarities experienced by young people from different countries – goals that align with the objectives of KA1 – Mobility of Young People. The general objective of the project was to use urban arts as a tool for social inclusion. The core idea is that Street Arts can be used as an educational tool to engage young people and strengthen their sense of participation. This objective aligns with the intervention areas of the EU Youth Strategy 2019–2027: Engage, Connect, Empower. The specific objectives has been as follows: - Revitalize democracy through the promotion of active citizenship and the creation and/or strengthening of a sense of European citizenship by working on interculturality through games and joint activities; - Support young people in understanding their role as part of both local and European communities; - Promote youth participation through creative urban arts as a tool to create multicultural and tolerant gathering spaces that also involve young people at risk of marginalization, connecting them with their communities; - Use Street Arts as a methodology within non-formal education to help young people build greater self-confidence.
