Objectives

We made a decision on implementing our project as a result of the participants’ experiences in our previous projects. In this sense, we realized that some of our participants did not possess a basic understanding of socialization, a crucial component for building essential life skills. Driven to understand this issue better, we conducted a quick survey with participants, asking them what socializing means to them, how it affects them, and how they socialize in daily life. The responses showed a strong lack of awareness; many couldn’t explain what socializing is or why it matters. According to the results of the survey, we get other participants and partner organizations involved in our project to improve their lifelong learning as well as social skills. In this regard, we wanted to develop measures for addressing the challenges faced by young individuals in environments where they socialize. To ensure a diverse and inclusive approach, we held additional online meetings with participants and partner organizations to co-create and refine the activities. Together, we crafted a program designed to meet the core challenges identified by participants. Our main objectives were as follows: To guide young people on integrating social activities into their daily lives. To promote growing trends of individualism and avoid the effects of social isolation. To improve and offer effective tools and activities for interpersonal communication, collaboration, and empathy. To clarify the link between socialization efforts and soft skills. To educate young people on the personal and public benefits of socialization by enhancing their emotional well-being and relationships. To encourage young participants to take part in social events and activities as well as volunteering projects. To transform young individuals into more socially engaged citizens of society. To motivate participants to prioritize mindful social interactions over constant activity. To foster a well-known philosophy called the Slow Movement, which highlights the importance of a balanced and less hectic pace of life. Our main goals were to create spaces where young people could build healthy social habits, develop essential soft skills, and reduce stress through meaningful connections. By reaching these goals, we aimed to create a lasting impact, helping participants make social engagement a regular part of their lives. This project was designed not only to meet an immediate need but also to lay the groundwork for a youth community that is socially connected and emotionally strong.
