Objectives

The Youth Worker, as a professional in socio-educational animation, can play a crucial role in restoring a positive perspective that includes activities supporting young people's mental well-being. The project “Mental Well-being in Youth Work”, through a training path for Youth Workers, aimed to explore, share, and apply non-formal tools and approaches to mental health, improving the quality of socio-educational work in support of organizations and for the benefit of young people with fewer opportunities. The project pursued the following training objectives: • To share non-formal education methods for promoting young people's mental health and apply them in various intervention contexts; • To strengthen the skills needed to promote psychological well-being and a positive education towards mental health among young people; • To disseminate tools for the prevention and recognition of mental health risk factors in young people belonging to vulnerable groups; • To acquire skills and knowledge on the correlation between mental health and youth distress; • To analyze, at a European level, socio-cultural and normative differences by exploring solutions and good practices adopted in different countries regarding the promotion and prevention of mental health issues among young people.
