Objectives

The aim of this training course was to equip youth workers and youth leaders with a set of practical tools that are easily applicable in diverse contexts. These tools are designed to help young people develop a sense of reality, possibility, and imagination—sparking their interest in key social issues such as global challenges, democracy, sustainability, and the fight against fake news. Through the use of practical tools and educational experiences, youth workers are able to engage young people in current issues, encouraging them to reflect on and explore the wide range of concrete solutions that can be found around a given topic. Additionally, the work done on fake news enables youth workers to help young people protect themselves from misinformation, develop independent opinions about the world around them, and become more resilient and less susceptible to manipulation. The guided reflections throughout the course also supported the personal and professional growth of youth workers, empowering them to strengthen the personalities of the young people they work with, making them more aware, responsible, and active members of society. The main objectives achieved through this training course included: Enabling youth workers and youth leaders to acquire tools to stimulate in young people a sense of reality and possibility, to foster imagination, and to support them in finding practical solutions to the major challenges of the 21st century; Providing effective tools to expose fake news and combat disinformation; Encouraging reflection on the concept of limits and how to transmit this principle to young people, as a key element of sustainability and responsible 21st-century citizenship; Strengthening active participation in social and democratic life at the local, national, and international levels, by involving young people directly in the process. One of the core activities of the experience was the rewriting of constitutional charters representing an ideal society. The aim of this exercise was to encourage participants to identify fundamental principles that safeguard citizens' rights and promote a more just and inclusive society. Moreover, the work carried out can support young people in engaging in discussions and developing solid arguments to foster constructive dialogue with others. Another goal was to reinforce international cooperation among organizations by providing them with new methodological tools applicable to their daily work with young people. Finally, as a result of this training, the partner organizations are better equipped to train young people internally who wish to take on the role of youth leader and lead youth groups in international mobility experiences.
