Objectives

The project aims at fostering a more inclusive environment within youth participation contexts, with the goal of appreciating diversity and promoting mutual respect without stereotypes and stigma. The project aims to achieve several specific objectives, including the exchange of best practices to train young people and youth workers in addressing inclusion-related issues appropriately, involving experts to learn specific methodologies. The initiative also aims to actively engage at least 10 organizations and 60 young people in the project's implementation to strengthen a national network based on a culture of inclusion and accessibility, create moments of dialogue through events and public consultations, and collect data to understand local-level needs and perceptions of inclusion. The objectives translate into tangible outcomes, such as the creation of a Manual containing practices and tools, a database to collect data, and recommendations to address inclusion issues. The project is in line with the overall objective of the Erasmus+ program, which aims to support the lifelong learning, educational, professional, and personal development of people in education, training, youth, and sport, in Europe and beyond, thereby contributing to sustainable growth, quality jobs, and social cohesion, promoting innovation, and strengthening European identity and active citizenship. Furthermore, the project aligns with the program's horizontal priorities, such as inclusion and diversity, digital transformation, and participation in democratic life. The use of digital tools to promote project accessibility and the active participation of young citizens is anticipated. The initiative also adheres to the Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps strategy for inclusion and diversity. Regarding consistency with the objectives of youth participation activities, the project commits to involving young people in civil society and democratic life, promoting civic engagement, and the economic, social, cultural, and political participation of young people from all backgrounds, with particular attention to those with fewer opportunities. It aims to raise awareness among young people about common European values and fundamental rights, contributing to the European integration process. The project will facilitate dialogue between young people and decision-makers at various levels and contribute to the EU youth dialogue. In summary, the proposed project focuses on creating a more inclusive environment for young people, promoting active participation, dialogue, and mutual understanding. The planned activities aim to engage young people and political decision-makers in addressing inclusion challenges and facilitating meaningful civic participation, thus contributing to the goals of the Erasmus+ program and the European Union's priorities in terms of inclusion, diversity, and youth participation.
