Objectives

The main objective of the ArtTech project was to empower young women aged 19 to 29—especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds—by developing their digital and artistic skills. The project aimed to foster self-expression, creativity, and confidence through innovative learning experiences that combined digital technologies with artistic practices. In doing so, it sought to reduce gender disparities in access to digital education and the creative industries. Additional goals included promoting inclusion, intercultural understanding, and intergenerational learning, as well as strengthening partnerships and mentorship networks across Europe. ArtTech also aimed to provide participants with tools and opportunities to enhance their employability, civic engagement, and connection to supportive international communities

Background

We applied for the ArtTech project to address the limited access that young women—particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds—have to digital education, artistic tools, and inclusive learning environments. Many of these women face structural barriers such as social exclusion, unemployment, and gender inequality, which restrict their opportunities for personal and professional growth. The project aimed to fill this gap by offering them creative and technological learning experiences that enhance their digital literacy, foster self-expression, and empower them through cross-cultural collaboration. By combining digital tools with artistic expression, ArtTech promoted gender equality, intercultural dialogue, and inclusion across Italy, Romania, and Lithuania. The project also aimed to establish sustainable support networks and visibility for young women, encouraging their participation in creative industries and civic life.
