The goal of the project is to develop the abilities and competencies of young people to participate in public life. By organizing impartial political debates and discussions, reduce the gap between young people and politicians, raise and discuss issues relevant to young people (and not only), gain more courage and self-confidence, especially when communicating with politicians. In 2024 Presidential elections will be held in Lithuania, so preparation for them is extremely important - young people will gain new knowledge and competences to consciously participate in the elections. They will also learn how to observe 2023 pre-election promises made by elected mayors, to carry out long-term watchdogging at the local and national level. The project aims to develop the understanding of young people that participation in public life is not only necessary during elections, but this process must be consistent and continuous. By observing the pledges made by politicians, young people will improve their information processing, critical thinking and digital skills, understand powers of different political institutions. The aim is to involve young people in pre-election debates and post-election public life, which is important for fostering democracy.
