Objectives

Through the creation of the A la Carte Handbook and the Platform, the project sought to: 1. Improve the quality of youth work by introducing structured facilitation methods such as LEGO SERIOUS PLAY, Design Thinking/Sprint, and Graphic Facilitation; 2. Enhance youth workers’ ability to design, plan, and manage workshops, meetings, and creative learning events effectively; 3. Support digital transformation in youth work by offering an online platform where methods, templates, and session cards can be accessed, adapted, and shared; 4. Promote inclusion and engagement by enabling youth workers to create interactive, learner-centred experiences for young people; 5. Foster European cooperation and knowledge exchange among organisations working in non-formal education and youth development.

Background

The main goal of the project was to equip youth workers with universal facilitation techniques and tactics from LEGO Serious Play, Design thinking/sprint, graphic facilitation .Youth workers should have an accessibility to different tactics and methods that will support their quality of work, which can be improved, and as a result be recognised. Use of quality tools in work with young people will correspond to the changing circumstances of young people's lives and be embedded in a broader quality approach to empower youth organisations. The need of such project was raised while analysing current state of professional development of youth workers which showed that youth workers need regularly work on professional development and improve own skills. The products were designed to respond to this gap by providing an easy-to-use, intuitive, and adaptable tool (handbook and the Platform) that helps youth workers plan, manage, and facilitate activities in a structured and engaging way.
