The primary aim of implementing this project was to enhance the quality of non-formal education (NFE) activities within the ERASMUS+ Youth program by equipping youth workers, leaders, and organizational representatives with the necessary competencies, knowledge, and tools. This was achieved by providing a focused, immersive training course that empowered participants to understand, reflect on, and effectively utilize the principles and methodologies of non-formal education. By doing so, the project sought to address the evident gap in accessible and high-quality training opportunities specifically focused on non-formal education. Ultimately, the project aimed to contribute to the broader goals of lifelong learning by strengthening the foundation and delivery of non-formal education activities, ensuring that future projects in the ERASMUS+ framework could be impactful and transformative. More and more newcomers entered the ERASMUS+ field, raising the question of whether they had the appropriate competencies to become non-formal educators. We were not suggesting the need for institutions to prepare non-formal education educators; rather, we aimed to send a message about the importance of raising the quality of non-formal education activities. To achieve this, we emphasized the need for non-formal education training focused on non-formal education itself, which could enhance the quality of such activities. Non-formal education is the foundation of the ERASMUS+ Youth project, and our project consisted of one training course dedicated to the topic of non-formal education. Through this training course, we educated youth leaders, workers, and representatives of youth organizations about non-formal education. There is relatively few training courses offering opportunities to learn about non-formal education. For example, a search of the SALTO webpage revealed 44 training courses on various topics, but only one focused specifically on non-formal education: The Power of Non-Formal Education. One of our project trainers had previously participated in The Power of Non-Formal Education. This training course has been organized for many years, and a significant number of people applied for it but were unable to participate due to limited spots. This demonstrated not only the quality of the training course but also the high demand in Europe for opportunities to learn about non-formal education, its methodologies, and its transformative power. Aim of the project were educate youth workers about non-formal education through engagement, connection, and empowerment. Objectives of the project were: - To stimulate the participants to reflect on Non-Formal Education by experimenting with different kinds of non-formal educational methods, - To understand the principles, theories, and practices of Non-Formal Education within the Erasmus+ program and how this can be used as an effective toolbox, - Improve participants' ETS competencies to work internationally.
