Projekta galvenais mērķis bija stiprināt skolēnu pašpārvalžu sistēmu Liepājas pilsētas un Dienvidkurzemes novada izglītības iestādēs, tādējādi veicinot jauniešu pilsonisko un demokrātisko līdzdalību. Ņemot vērā, ka jaunieši lielu daļu savas ikdienas pavada skolā, projektā tika uzsvērta nepieciešamība pilsonisko līdzdalību attīstīt ne vien caur izglītojošām aktivitātēm, bet arī tieši skolas vidē. Skolēnu pašpārvaldes tika uzskatītas par būtisku instrumentu, kas sniedz jauniešiem iespēju iegūt demokrātijas pieredzi un attīstīt pilsoniskās prasmes. Tāpēc projekta ietvaros tika īstenotas aktivitātes, kuru mērķis bija stiprināt jau esošo skolēnu pašpārvalžu kapacitāti, veicināt pašpārvalžu darbību, atbalstot viņu iniciatīvas, kā arī veidot sadarbības tīklu starp skolēnu pašpārvaldēm Liepājā un Dienvidkurzemes novadā. -------- The main goal of the project was to strengthen the student self-government system in educational institutions of Liepāja city and Dienvidkurzeme region, thus promoting civic and democratic participation of young people. Taking into account that young people spend a large part of their daily lives at school, the project emphasized the need to develop civic participation not only through educational activities, but also directly in the school environment. Student self-governments were considered an important instrument that provides young people with the opportunity to gain democratic experience and develop civic skills. Therefore, activities were implemented within the project, the aim of which was to strengthen the capacity of existing student self-governments, promote the activities of self-governments by supporting their initiatives, as well as to create a cooperation network between student self-governments in Liepāja and Dienvidkurzeme region.
