The evolving job market had led to a disconnect between employee skills and employer requirements, with 40% of EU employers facing difficulties finding suitable candidates. To address this skills gap, the European Commission had introduced the New Skills Agenda for Europe. This required educational institutions to align programs with labor market demands and emphasized not just cognitive skills, but also civic education. Global challenges like war and the pandemic had exacerbated unemployment, particularly affecting young adults, with almost 3 million aged 18-25 categorized as NEET in 2021. To combat this, young individuals needed to enhance skills, embrace critical thinking, and engage in various fields like education, technology, and civic participation. This observations was our starting point to carry out YouPower project with our partners and participants. Aligned with these needs, our project objectives focused on personal and professional development, promoting social entrepreneurship, and nurturing soft skills among 36 participants. The project aligned with the EU Youth Strategy's goals for youth engagement, connection, and empowerment during challenging times.
