The project "YouthActivate: Creative participation in the community" was based on the need to explore new strategies in order to analyze creative youth activism and participation in the community. The strong motivation behind the Youth Exchange was to address the influence and impact of creative activism and youth participation on the lives of young people because these should be prominent parts of life for many young people today. We wanted them to develop better organizational skills, better use of the internet, art, and creativity, and improve their experience in the field of activism through non-formal education and focusing on the most important aspects of youth participation in the community. The main aim of the youth exchange "YouthActivate: Creative participation in the community" was to increase young people’s awareness of the effects and impact that creative activism and youth participation can achieve. We also wanted to empower young people to be leaders in their local community and to open critical debate on the importance of certain issues through creativity and art. The youth exchange ‘YouthActivate: Creative participation in the community’ gathered 48 young people across Europe and showed them different ways of actively participating in the decision-making processes, as well as the benefits from it on a personal and social level. Together, leaders of this YE showed participants various non-formal methods of youth participation used in their countries. It allowed the exchange of methods and practices between young people and organizations coming from different parts of Europe. The project’s objectives were: - To raise awareness in the community of the existence of creative activism and youth participation; - To enable the sharing and exchange of diverse strategies from participants' countries that drive the active participation of young individuals in decision-making processes; - To enhance Awareness of European Challenges and explore solutions; - To promote European values, such as human rights and the rule of law, active participation and social responsibility, - To develop participants’ competencies such as communication in English, teamwork in a mixed-intercultural team, problem-solving, conflict management, and leadership skills of the participants in intercultural settings; - To develop participants’ intercultural skills by creating videos and articles by using new technologies; - To promote the Erasmus+ Programme and opportunities it offers, as well the Youthpass and its value; - To encourage intercultural learning and to promote cultural diversity.
