We carried out this project to enable youth to address the topic of panic attacks and how art can help with them. There were several objectives that helped us reach our goal: We provided the young participants with sufficient learning materials and experiences within the topic scope, ensuring that they could successfully share what they had learned with others. We explored the differences between cultures and the various experiences from the participating countries, focusing on how culture influences exposure to panic attacks. We raised awareness about panic attacks and promoted ways of dealing with them, specifically through the use of art. The participants engaged in activities focused on panic attacks and how artistic expression could serve as an outlet to help young people cope with this issue. Through this, we also worked to reduce the stigma and discrimination associated with anxiety and its manifestations in individuals. By immersing the young participants in visual art therapy, we encouraged them to take responsibility for their emotional and physical well-being, while also helping to remove the stigma surrounding mental disorders.
