Objectives

With In or Out, we set out to create something more than just an international exchange. It was designed to be a metaphor for life. We wanted to create an experience that would serve as a turning point for young people. Our aim was to provide a space where participants could reconnect with learning in ways that felt relevant, empowering, and real and where they could express themselves, learn about their strengths & skills, and support others to do so through peer-to-peer learning. We focused on international young people aged 15 to 21, many of whom had long felt disconnected from traditional education systems and were experiencing the power of non-formal education for the first time. These participants were expecting to unlock their potential, both individually and as an international, completely new group, exploring cooperation from scratch. Having this opportunity to explore themselves in a safe environment is something very rare for most youngsters. That's why our aim was to offer a tailor-made cooperative opportunity and not only teach them something. In order to make this experience a transfer for life, it was important to give them the opportunity to see themselves differently and take their learning into their own hands. By using peer-to-peer learning and a variety of outdoor and informal work forms, we aimed to create an atmosphere where participants could exchange ideas, develop essential soft skills, and rediscover their love for learning. In other words, we aimed to support them to learn how to learn, become aware of their power to take part in their communities, express their needs, and take responsibility for shaping their lives! What made this youth exchange stand out wasn’t just about the program itself, but also the methodology used and the way we chose to consciously offer the opportunity to our participants to create and grow. The magic was in the possibility of embracing the discomfort of growth! In or Out was aligned with the Erasmus+ program and Key Action 1 objectives, focusing on inclusion, personal development, intercultural dialogue, and active youth participation. The specific objectives were: - to offer an engaging and context-based education by using hands-on, peer-to-peer learning and outdoor learning as part of the methodology; - to promote social inclusion and equal opportunities by bringing together 54 international young people, of whom at least 80% face fewer opportunities; - to support lifelong learning at a personal development level, but also for future employability by focusing on soft skills and the strengths of youth; - to ensure 54 Youthpass certificates and a collection of individual reflections through feedback questionnaires and individual articles; - to reach more young people and reinforce the capacities of the partner organizations through local activities prepared by each national group and equipping them with at least 18 new informal educational tools.
