Our project, "Wear it Fair," had as its overarching objective to help youth workers and their organisations to become more committed, confident and skilled to advocate for a sustainable & ethical fashion industry through their youth work activities. This overarching objective was split up in the following specific objectives: 1. to help participating youth workers gain a deep understanding of the current (global) fashion system and its impact on our planet and global society, as well as of the alternatives that make a circular and ethical fashion system. 2. to equip them with the tools and knowledge that enable them to adopt more ethical consumer behaviours themselves and to pass this capability on to other youth to educate them, as a prerequisite for being an active advocate for change (= practise what you preach). 3. to provide them with a framework that they can use to design campaigns to advocate for specific societal causes - with a focus on fair fashion - and give them the opportunity to put this framework to practise in a safe environment, along with newly gained tips, tricks and tactics for campaigning. 4. to train participants’ confidence and capability to educate and engage the youth in their local communities as part of their campaigns, but also to constructively involve various sorts of other stakeholders in them. 5. to familiarize the participating youth workers with the opportunity and methods to organise youth work activities through which they stimulate/put pressure on businesses (in the fashion industry) to adopt more fair and ethical policies and practices. 6. to build and strengthen cooperation among the participating organisations and with the external stakeholders involved in the project, and in doing so contribute to each other’s professional development. 7. to get the participating organisations and otherwise sending organisations of participating youth workers to adopt guidelines & standards for developing and executing their own (fashion) advocacy activities with & for other youth.
