We wanted to achieve higher recognition of sustainable practices in the education establishments through implementation of the sustainable practices in the youthwork, thus transfering them further to education establishments. We wanted to tackle the problem that education establishments like different type of schools and universities poit out the necessity to act sustainable in different ways, to reduce the waste and to recycle, to save water. However, there are limited opportunities to follow sustainable practices in the schools and universities, despite various opportunities provided by local municipalities and authorities. Thus we wanted to change this situation to contribute to the transformation of education establishments into examples for students where they can learn and improve their sustainable habits. Accordingly, we decided to promote sustainable practices in non-formal education sector and to promote implementation of sustainable practices in the youthwork, because we believe that this will help to transfer sustainable practices further to other education establishments. Thus we decided to develop guidelines for youth centers and youth work establishments on how to implement sustainable practices in their work. We wanted to elaborate specific methodology to implement sustainable practices based on the 3R concept used for waste management (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), also widening this concept and expanding it to further actions as well, like electricity, materials, resources etc. The aim of the project was to promote 3R concept (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) to foster sustainable practices in the youth work. The objectives of the project were the following: 1. To exchange the good practice from the youth work in participating countries, 2. To introduce 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) approach to the youth workers, 3. To promote sustainable practices among the youth workers, 4. To raise competencies of youth workers to design activities increasing environmental awareness, 5. To equip youth workers with new tools and practices to promote sustainable practices in youth work, 6. To promote Erasmus+ programme and Youthpass certificate.
