Objectives

The project aimed to strengthen digital well-being and psychosocial resilience among youth and youth workers by addressing the impact of digital wounds such as cyberbullying, harassment and overuse of digital media. Our main goal was to equip young people with knowledge, skills and emotional tools to navigate the digital world safely and consciously. To achieve this, we focused on the following objectives: >Develop practical and accessible resources, including a pocket-sized guide that provides psychosocial support, digital safety tips and strategies for healing digital wounds. >Create an interactive online platform promoting mindful media consumption, digital minimalism, digital detox and emotional well-being. >Increase awareness and understanding among youth and youth workers about different forms of digital wounds and their psychosocial effects. >Empower youth workers to act as psychosocial advocates for digital well-being by offering training and capacity building. >Foster empathy, peer support and open dialogue about mental health and digital experiences within youth communities. >Ensure long-term impact by developing strategies for sustainability, partnership collaboration and wider dissemination of project results.

Background

We applied for this project in response to the increasing psychosocial effects of digital wounds among young people, including cyberbullying, online harassment, hate speech and digital addiction. These experiences often lead to anxiety, depression and social isolation. At the same time, youth workers lack practical tools, structured guidance and psychosocial approaches to support affected youth. Existing initiatives are fragmented and rarely combine digital safety with mental well-being, mindful media use and emotional healing. Through needs assessments and SWOT analyses, partner organisations identified limited funding, resources and expertise to respond to these challenges in a holistic way. Youth are spending more time online and those who are vulnerable or marginalized face even higher risks of exposure to harmful content. We recognised the need for solutions that not only heal the negative impacts of digital wounds but also promote digital minimalism, mindfulness and healthy digital habits. This project aims to provide accessible resources, psychosocial tools and capacity building to strengthen resilience, emotional intelligence and safe online engagement.
