Objectives

Our "Jättebra" project was all about bringing young people and youth workers from Norway (Karmøy and Steinkjer), Lithuania, and Iceland together to have positive impact on young people for their future. Most of participants are from rural areas. We came up with this cool project idea back in 2022 during a PBA in Utøya, Norway. The plan was to have four different youth groups get-togethers with the same buddies and some of the same youngsters to create lasting friendships and experiences. We were actively involved in the project since summer 2023 so it was very important and influential! Our focus in this project was all about including young people who might feel left out and diving into creativity, art, and culture. We wanted to do fun stuff like outdoor activities, hanging out in nature, and learning about how being happy is something that connects us all, no matter where we're from or what our interest are. As we went through these youth gatherings, we also chatted about being true to ourselves and accepting everyone just as they are. We cheered on our fellow youngsters to share what they learned and started making a difference right in our own neighborhoods, especially where labels, stereotypes, and biases are still a thing. Our big project goal was to smash the walls between different cultures, social groups, and young people who might feel left out. We helped youngsters to break out of their comfort zones and offered awesome time doing it! Objectives of our project were: - to get to know cool plants and animals through fun activities. - unleash youngsters' creative side with some solo and group challenges. - boost confidence of young people in speaking English and rocking those public speaking skills. - embrace into outdoors activities and stay active.
